Prime Day is here! What are you purchasing?

Any good deals you want other people to be aware of? I’ve been holding off on buying an OLED TV that I’ve been wanting for 6 months and I am very happy with the deal I got on it. I still have a bit more money budgeted to spend on this sale so I’d be interested to see what deals other people are getting.

  1. Everything I’ve looked at seems to be a worse deal than before. Bought a laptop two weeks ago and the price is up 3万. So I did a little digging and everything I’ve purchased in the last couple months is actually more expensive now. Hopefully its just me.

Edit: Most of the stuff I buy are Makita power tools and things for woodworking.

  2. A bunch of Anker cable/charger/powerbank. I am finally moving everything to USB-C.

  3. Nearly bought the OLED but decided to wait until september.

Does anyone know what kind of warranty the lg oled has on amazon jp?2

  4. Chargeup campaign is pretty good, 2-3% extra for buying digital gift cards -> redeeming them yourself then buying goods with them.

If there’s stuff you’re already considering buying available at a decent price, the up to 12% back on top of the reduced prices can make it cheaper. But seems like there’s no real “knockout” deals yet.

  5. Everything I was looking at this weekend was discounted to the price it was yesterday lol. Some items a bit more expensive, they had a 20% bundle coupon that got reduced to 10%. Graphics tablets, stereo amps, and computer monitors.

  6. Remember to install [Keepa](https://keepa.com/) or some other extension that shows the actual price history. You might end up buying something more expensive than it was before the “sale”.

  7. I’m tempted to buy a Dremel. Some of the kettlebells also look decent. For the bros, a 16kg and a 20 is a nice home gym for about ¥10,000. For the ladies a 12 and 16kg is usually a good start. Kettlebell Kon makes decent stuff. If you have extra cash buy 2×16 and 2×20, get on r/kettlebell and kick some ass. My home gym takes up a small corner of my office.

I’ve been using them since the city gyms closed, about two and a half years, and managed to still deadlift 120 for 5 reps my first day back in the gym. My deadlift was 150 when the gyms closed. I was pumped considering that the heaviest weights I have at home at two 24kg kettlebells.

  8. What TV did you get ? I took a look at the oled from LG and was not impressed by the discounts.

  9. My husband has been eying faster memory for the computer for months and finally pulled the trigger. I also found a shade cloth for the balcony that was slightly discounted. I’m really tempted by the Roomba, but until we build a house it really doesn’t make sense with our current layout.

  10. Thinking of trying out the Botanical brand shampoo/conditioner. Been using Tsubaki for a while now but it’s downright miserable if you don’t at least condition rinse with it daily.

Besides that was looking at maybe grabbing another external hard drive, maybe an internal SSD for a new PC build happening…. eventually. Browsed the microwaves a bit as well, but there really isn’t much there outside of the super basic Iris Ohyama one for ~6.5k. My current one works, but is very old and pretty grungy.

  11. My wife always picks up consumables like detergent, cleaners, etc. They seem to always end up cheaper than non prime prices. Buy a few months worth and save yourself some cash.

  12. Shit ton of household supplies and never buying again for the rest of the year. Until next prime day lol

  13. I bought a couple of Fire tablets for 7000 yen each. They’ll come in useful for future trips with the kids. Apart from that, I’m not seeing much in the way of real bargains anywhere else.

  14. if you are going to buy a nice tv..go to COSTCO..better selection, great return policy and usually better prices

  15. Bought 2 Amazon Basics cages for my guinea pigs. Pretty decent deal compared to before

  16. I’m not interested in any “luxury” type items because 1) the vast majority are shit that they’re just trying to get rid of and 2) even if I buy it I probably didn’t really want/need it.

Other than that…. are there any good household supply/toiletry/non-perishable food etc deals on? That’s really the only thing I would consider.

  17. More weights for my training room, some audio- video equipment, and some other planned purchases. Also, waiting on my SO to add to the cart.

  18. Looking to buy a powerbank thing for camping and day trips. Seems like almost all of the makes and models are on sale (according to Keepa), so a bit of a pain comparing all the specs to see which ones are actually good. Any recommendations? Looking mainly at Jackery 240 or EcoFlow River, while also checking the ones with names I’ve never heard of and wondering how crap they are

  19. Baby stuff the same as I did last prime day 🤷‍♀️ Diapers by the case are cheap, and lots of fisher price and happe stuff is actually on sale.

  20. Found a nice Bose Bluetooth speaker. Might drown out the noise of all the stomping kids above me.

  21. Looking for a car pressure washer, car wash supplies from Meguiar’s, Sennheiser headphone, Edifier BT Speaker, Razer mouse! But for now, nothing added to the cart yet!

  22. I tried the Pebbles but ended up sending it back. I don’t know much about the other brands, but I just like the Edifier sound quality! The one I’m looking at is ¥16,000 right now =/

  23. Aftershokz (shokz) headphones are on a nice discount and i have nothing but praise for them after years of use

  24. Don’t know if it works in Japan, but I use this site:

    https://camelcamelcamel.com/

Drop the url of the item you’re looking at into the site and it will give its price history.

Edit: just had chance to check if it had a Japan section and it’s no longer supported. Sorry everyone.

I also got a real good deal on my Ri-up Minoxidil medicine if anyone uses it.

  26. Nothing really. It used to be a good time to grab electronics, but with the yen crushing everything is just more expensive.

  27. I usually use it as an excuse to upgrade my Echo devices/Fire TV if mine are a few generations out of date. ¥1500 for a new Dot isn’t bad at all.

The protein powder I use actually is more expensive “on sale” today than it was when I bought it last, sigh.

Otherwise, just what others have been suggesting. The San Pellegrino was a good price, and picked up a kettle bell because I’ve been interested in getting one. Poor delivery guy.

  28. ordered a huawei smartwatch and adidas body bag today (prime exclusive deals)

  29. Got headphone. Still considering OLED. I’m limited to few models because wife needs at least 3 tuners to record two programs at the same time.

  30. Nothing. F Amazon and companies like Uber that are overly exploitative.

This is basically an unintentional ad fro Amazon and Consooming

  31. Most of the sales are cr*p in my opinion. Bought toiletries and non-perishables that would buy anyway (shampoo, body wash, coffee, etc)

  32. I bought an Aucma stand mixer that got it’s price jacked up before the discount came, so even though a formerly ¥20000 mixer is on sale for 20% off it still costs around ¥18000 because now the “regular” price is about ¥22500. I’d be less mad if they’d just called it a 10% discount and not changed the non-sale price. So fucking scummy.

Of course, it’s Amazon, so scum is basically all they are. You look past how horrible they are because you don’t have the money to apply your morals to your spending. 😒
