Switching anki decks

I’m around 300 cards into Core 2/6k (I guess it’s not a lot relatively speaking) but today I found out about Core 2.3k which focuses more on VN vocabulary, which is something that interested me as well as the improvements over 6k listed on Ankiweb.

That being said, I was wondering if it’s worth starting over again, since one of my main motives to learn the language is to read VN stuff; and, if so, if there’s something more practical than setting the new card limit super high and spamming easy on words I already know to catch up. Thanks in advance.

As an addendum: is there any way to get the formatting on 2.3k like the 2/6k one? The former has everything crammed up and way too small.

No. Delete the ~5700 cards you haven’t done from core 2k/6k. Add the remaining 300 cards to the core 2.3k deck. Delete all the duplicates from core 2.3k either as you come across them or all at once with the “find duplicate” feature.

Convert all the cards in the 2k/6k deck to be the same note type as the cards from core 2.3k. After this, all the old cards should automatically be reformatted to have the new formatting you want.
