So I’m preparing for the initial Skype interview next Monday, and I took a look at the dress code and noted that it said hair must not be an unnatural shade or two-toned.
My hair is currently bleached blonde. It’s got no unnatural colors in it, but my eyebrows are still a darker brown shade so it’s probably noticeable. Would I be okay if I simply explained that I would be dye my hair back to my natural hue or cut if off? Should I potentially consider dyeing my hair before the interview all together?
If anyone who’s interviewed with AEON has any advice or clarification on this, I’d greatly appreciate it.

If you submitted a photo with your application, you try to look as closely to that photo as possible. That’s the unspoken rule everywhere
If you’re white or look white I wouldn’t worry about it at all (just the nature of eikaiwa) but if not, I still don’t think it’s a big deal. My advice if you’re worried is maybe just get some light colored eyebrow mascara to lighten your eyebrows
I attended my interview with an earring (which is against the rules) and I just told them I’d take it out if I got the job, they were fine with that and hired me.
I think it’s also in their dress code not to wear a black suit, so don’t do that either. Wear a tie too (if you are a man) and err on the side of formal or conservative in your dress if you are unsure.
Smile a lot and use the interviewer’s name. Sit straight, they will be grading everything about you. Head office is very strict (each school not so much)
Can you breathe unassisted?
Can you stand unassisted?
Do you qualify for a visa?
Do you look like someone that might speak English?
Are you willing to work for less than a 22 year old Japanese university gradate while having half of that salary deducted for rent for your entire time in Japan?

Those are the only questions they care about.
Stick with Seiha; technically they have a dress code but honestly nobody really gives a shit; I work there and have a red mowhawk and basically nobody takes issue with it other than a handful of people, and the few times anyone said anything all I got was a simple talking to from managers (that honestly don’t care about my hair). So long as you at the very least wear their polo shirts (and you should, as the classrooms get fucking hot and their shirts are made of a very breathable material), you should be fine.
Just make sure you’re a damn good teacher in all other aspects; that way they can’t really complain about minor issues like dress code violations.
Blonde is fine! Unnatural hair colors would refer to the ones in the rainbow lol. Some of the Japanese counselors I’ve met even have red or ash blonde hair.
