So sorry if this comes off as a silly question, but I’m just unsure on what to do with myself.
Hopefully next year I plan to visit Japan, and try and haul myself up Mount Fuji. Kind of daunting.
And I’m just trying to think. I get to the bottom the morning after descent, I find the way back to the hotel and shower, change clothes, then…
Sit by Lake Kawaguchi doing little
do like a half day at FujiQ maybe.
Pack up try and get to the next destination
Idk.
I imagine you’re anywhere between exhausted or on a high from the night before. And yeah, I’ve never done something on this scale before.

Unless you like waiting in line while climbing a mountain I would suggest doing anything else.
Mount Fuji isn’t really a mountain climb. It’s a mountain teeming with people at pretty much every level. There will likely be dozens of other people with you, every step of the way, you won’t really get a feeling of tranquility, or even of accomplishment because of that.
Maybe climb mount Ashitaka and get a view of Mount Fuji, which would be a lot more serene as it is one of the most aesthetically pleasing places on earth.
Although the commonly repeated proverb is “a wise man, climbs Mount Fuji once. A fool climbs at twice.”
You won’t get much sleep at night because everybody gets up crazy early for sunrise.
You’ll likely want to take a nap. I would go to an onsen and then plan nothing for the rest of the day. Also it’s gonna take you forever to get down because it’s so busy everywhere
