Zipair to Seoul

Anyone use them for this route? The fare is incredibly cheap and I’m wondering if my two young kids can survive the flight. Also, I see they’re often delayed going stateside but what about to Seoul? Thanks in advance!

  1. I’ve used them to go back and forth between LA and Tokyo twice (so four flights total) Considering how cheap they were I thought they were fine. I had done my research beforehand so I know they charged for everything and didn’t have TV screens. If you prepay for the meals, they are decent enough. Even with paying for amenities and baggage, it seems to be the best deal at the moment. Seats were comfortable enough. Sure, flying JAL is a better experience, but the price to comfort ratio was fine for me. None of my flights were delayed, and on two of these flights I had a toddler with me who fared well. I imagine for a short flight it will be fine.

  2. Quality / Price is very good, I try to get this plane to Seoul every time if fly this way (NRT > ICN)
    Free (good) wifi onboard
Planes are brand new / refurbished

On the way back I prefer usually to pay a bit more and fly JAL/ANA or Korean Air from GMP to Haneda, saving a lot of time and have more convenient evening flights

I used to take this route like every 2 weeks, never has any delay issue.
Only bad point : Narita security check waiting time, be there early

  3. I used Zipair to fly to Seoul last year! No complaints really, there are no screens on the seats but since it’s a short flight it’s perfectly fine. I would recommend for that route!

  4. Used for Seoul over christmas new year, didn’t get delayed. Trip was pleasant, flight was good. The seats were pretty wide and legroom was good compared to usual LCCs. They have free wifi and charging so even without tvs, if you have a tablet/laptop for your kids to use that should be enough.

  5. I prefer the service model of ZipAir. You just use a website on phone and get snacks or drinks delivered to your very quickly. Sure you have to pay a few hundred yen but even if you spend 5000 on food and drinks (like my family did) it’s still way way cheaper overall.
