Got a job in Yokohama, i have questions about accommodation and life

Hi guys i recently got a job in Yokohama and wanted to ask about areas i should avoid when looking for accommodations and other things to look out for, also cheap furniture places cause i’m looking at a 1K or 1DK unfurnished apartment. also wifi etc. Eg in China most people avoid apartments on the ground floor due to poor insulation, noise, pests and mould in rainy season. Any suggestions are appreciated thanks.

  2. Yokohama is huge, so you’ll want to narrow it down by what area/station/train line you want to be on (normally for ease of commuting). If you have a general idea of area it might be easier for people to make recommendations.

If you’re in a newer, nicer building you may not have issues on the ground floor, but yeah if you’re looking for cheap places then I assume it’s older apartments and then I would avoid the ground floor.

Yokohama is a great city, though again it’s really a sprawling area so it’s hard to describe a vibe without knowing where you’re living.
