Blacklisting grammar words on jpdb.io

I’ve been using jpdb.io to learn vocab. I’m halfway through their premade N5 deck (I chose this one because since it’s not as big as other starting decks, it feels more attainable as a first goal).

However, many words that show up are grammar structures, words that mean how, but, however, until, after, etc. These words for me are being very difficult to retain and I keep messing up. Since I’m going to use other sources for grammar (mainly youtube videos for now and planning to start on Tae Kim soon), would it be wise to blacklist every grammar word I come across in jpdb? Or would I come to regret it later and I should just power through?

  1. 1. It’s not really recommended to use the JLPT decks since they’re not very high quality. (They are not available on the site anymore for a reason, although *technically* people can still access them using a hidden link.) I have plans to add better manually curated decks in the future.

    2. Yes, feel free to blacklist them. I think most people do. (And by default we do blacklist grammar-related words, although the list of those’s still incomplete so some entries still get through.)
