I’m just finalizing my itinerary and wanted some feedback on the plan! This will be my partner’s 4th trip to Japan but my first! Because its my first trip and my birthday, I’m getting to choose all the activities we do, so I’d like some feedback on how reasonable this is or suggestions on other things I should do / look out for. I’m a little sad I cant fit any Ghibli stuff in, but I know they keep rescheduling closing down the giant moving Gundam so I’d like to see that definitely before it’s gone.
Day 0- All flying.
**Day 1- Arrival**
5:30p Arrive at HND. Maybe scope out the area near the hotel, go look at Tokyo Tower if we have energy. Staying nearby Kanda Station.
**Day 2- Shinjuku & Sibuya**
9a – 12p: Breakfast- I want to try fluffy pancakes, Meiji Jingu, Shinjuku Gyoen Park.
12p – 10p: Lunch @ Tsuta Ramen, Shibuya Parko, Shibuya Sky at sunset, Starbucks Reserve Roastery for evening coffee, Kabuchiko.
**Day 3- Ueno & Asakusa**
9a: Teamlab Planets, Diver City Plaza Unicorn Gundam
12p: Ueno Zoo
3p – 9p: Kaminarimon Gate, Nakamise-Dori street, Senso-ji, Hoppy Street
**Day 4- Yokohama & Akihabara**
10a – 2p: Yokohama Gundam Factory, Dock Tower, Gundam Cafe
3p – 10p: Akihabara shopping, Cafe Mailish, Arcades
**Day 5- Kyoto**
9a- 1p: Shinkansen to Kyoto, check bags at the hotel (staying at a nicer hotel for one night).
2p- 8p: Afternoon / Evening Inari Shrine hike, Dinner nearby.
**Day 6- Arashiyama**
7:30a: Take bags to next hotel (very close via taxi)
8:30a – 2p: Tenryuji, Bamboo Groves, Arashiyama Observatino Deck, Lunch, Monkey Park
3p – 7p: Kinkaku-ji, Dinner, Funaoka Sento
**Day 7- Birthday Day! Gion**
10a – 2p: Kyoto Imperial Castle, Maikoya Tea Ceremony & Kimono Rental, Nishiki Market
3p – 7p: Yasaka Shrine, Hanamikoji Street, Return Kimono at 5:30, Kichi Kichi Omurice
**Day 8- Nara**
7a-8a: Train to Nara
8a- 5p: Kofuku-ji, Nara deer park, Todai-ji, Kasuga Taisha, Lunch @ Higashimuki District, Horyu-ji, Yakushi-ji
5p- 6p: Train back to Kyoto
6p- 8p: Kyoto Tower shopping & dinner.
**Day 9- Osaka**
11a-2p: Osaka Aquarium3p: Head to KIX to head back home.

Fluffy pancakes and Teamlab Planets – book in advance. Missed out both of these because we went for pancakes on my last day and the place was booked out for the full day already.
Obviously the pancakes one depends on where you go. We went to the one advertised by Paolo in one of his youtube videos.
Teamlab Planets was booked out a few days ahead as well.
