Tokyo May Itinerary

Husband and I are going on an 11 day babymoon in Tokyo. We’re staying at the Remm Akihabara and plan to do trips to other places around Tokyo each day. I’ll be 5 months pregnant and working remote a few hours each night so can’t pick too many rigorous or nighttime activities.

Also, my husband loves sushi but I can’t eat seafood due to an allergy. Any recommendations for places to eat or additional things to do in these areas? I’m especially interested in finding an affordable (up to $100) place to do Omakase sushi for my husband where I can be there and eat something else.

  1. Since you guys seem very heavy into anime related stuff, I’d add: Nakano Broadway (retro anime and pop culture stores). Odaiba (giant Gundam and Gundam Base store).

Many of your days are very sparse. If you grouped your activities more, you should be able to take a day trip to somewhere nearby like Hakone, Nikko or Kamakura.

For omakase, you guys may be out of luck. In my experience, omakase restaurants tend to be specialised and any non-seafood dishes will be very limited. You might be better off at an izakaya.

  2. For the omakase, I saw a YouTube video of a couple where the girl didn’t like raw fish and only ate the cooked rolls. But a majority was ate by the guy. They probably just paid for two people and he ate both.

I’m in a similar boat, I don’t eat meat (only seafood) and I want my husband to be able to experience Kobe beef and I don’t know how to make it work. You have to order something to sit down. He might have to go to lunch without me.

Oh, and do research on the owl cafe. It isn’t good for them.
