Itinerary check – solo trip from May 13th till June 15th, Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima, Tateyama

In just one month and one day, I will get on the airplane towards Japan. I’ve spend some time the last few months to plan and book this trip, and I’m very excited to go!

I decided to make a day-by-day itinerary with locations, but not too many activities. That way, I’m at least a little flexible in what I will do each day. Without further ado, my itinerary:

**Day 25 (June 6th) – Final day of JR pass**

Head back to Tokyo

**Day 26-34 (June 7th – 15th) – Tokyo and surrounding area**

Spend time in Tokyo. Some of the things I have in mind:

* Joypolis
* Museum of Emerging Science
* Akihabara
* Shibuya
* TeamLab Planets
* Daytrip to Nikko

Other than this, I am also open to anything I learn about during my trip. Having a little over a week of unplanned days gives me some flexibility in case I learn about something awesome to see/do during the trip.

I have the a few questions about my itinerary:

1. Does it seem feasible? Are there days that are impossible?
2. I do not have accomodation booked for days 11-13 and 22-34. This is to have some flexibility, both in location and type of accomodation (hotel vs hostel). Will it be possible to find decently priced accomodation during the trip, or will it cost considerably more?
3. Is spending the last 9 days of my trip in Tokyo a good idea? The idea behind it is to have a more relaxed period at the end of the trip, while also having time for some shopping and casual sight seeing. I’m curious about your thoughts and/or experiences.

Thanks for reading! Any tips, comments and advice are greatly appreciated 🙂

  1. i’m in toyama and think an early train to tateyama is a really good idea bc the route will get VERY crowded later on in the day! if you can, try to book your alpine route tickets online beforehand, otherwise you’ll need to go to the counter at tateyama station. june will still be p chilly up in the mountains but it has lovely views and nice walking paths, so hope you enjoy!
