Itinerary advice – Tokyo, Nikko, Hakone in May with young kids

Hi! We are going to Tokyo, Nikko, Hakone in May with 2adults 2 kids (4yo,1yo). We have already drafted an itinerary and would like for recommendations/advice.

We are generally not interested in the shrines so did not plan for any but would not mind visiting 1 or 2. Also, we plan to end our days mostly around 6pm/7pm (dinners in hotel) so that the kids can rest.

May 12 (Fri):
– Arrive Haneda airport 6.45am.
– Planning to take it slow, train to Asakusa Tobu Hotel to leave luggage as check in time is 3pm.
– Rest somewhere/walk around Asakusa/Amusement Park

May 13 (Sat):
Asakusa > Legoland > Teamlabs Planet at Odaiba

May 14 (Sun):
– Asakusa > Nikko (11.30-1.10pm train)
– Have lunch on train
– Pick up rental car at Shimoimaichi and drive to Asaya Hotel in Kinugawa.

May 15 (Mon):
– Edo Wonderland in the morning
– Drive to Tobu Nikko for lunch,
– Drive to Lake Chuzenji, check in at Hatayo-Nagomi hotel.
– Explore Lake Chuzenju area – paddle boats or Kegon Falls

May 16 (Tue):
– Take sightseeing cruise
– Return car rental, board train to Tokyo Station at 1.44pm
– Check in Karaksa Tokyo Station Hotel
– Explore Tokyo station area

May 17 (Wed):
– Shibuya / Tokyo toy museum / Fire museum. No concrete plans yet

May 18 (Thur):
– Disneyland

May 19 (Fri):
– No plans yet, maybe some shopping and pet cafe.

May 20 (Sat):
– Karaksa Tokyo Station > Hakone, prob reach around 12.30pm.
– Check in Hakone Emblem Flow
– Go to Gora Open Air Museum

May 21 (Sun):
Hakone round course & Amazake Chaya

May 22 (Mon):
– Hakone Gora > Shinagawa
– Maxwell Aqua Park
– Shopping

May 23 (Tue):
Morning flight home

Questions:
1. For May 12 after landing at Haneda – our hotel is fully booked the night before, any suggestions where to rest or freshen up other than the TIAT shower rooms?
2. Any reviews for the compartment cars on the Spacia Kegon trains between Asakusa and Tobu Nikko?
3. For May 19 – Any suggestions for a free day in Tokyo?
4. Any recommendations for food around:
– Tokyo/Asakusa/Shinagawa/Shibuya station
– Tobu Nikko station
– Hakone (Gora/Odawara/Hakone-Yumoto stations)
