Is Juminhyo from konbini sufficient for driver’s license exchange (Kanagawa)?

Hi,

I am planning to go to the Kanagawa Driver’s License Center to exhange my foreign license for the Japanese one. Juminhyo is on the list of required documents, but I am not sure if I should go to my ward office to get it, or printing it at konbini with mynumber card would be sufficient?

In the list of required documents, it is mentioned that the Juninhyo must be issues by my local government and no photocopies are acceptable. Does this rule out konbini print?

Any help would be great, thanks!

  1. For all intents and purposes, the ones you get at 7-11 are the same as the ones you get from city hall.
