The search for jalapeno Cheetos is a classic JLife meme, and now there’s a good alternative available.
Frito Lay is selling 激辛マニア Cheetos-like snacks for a limited time.
I was expecting the typical mild Japan-level spice, but these are the spiciest mainstream snack I’ve ever had in Japan. Living in Japan has made me weaker and my lazy gaijin tongue tapped out after just half a bag.
Give them a try before the 限定 kills them.

WHERE?
These have been around for a while. Frito Lay in Japan is just Calbee rebranded, so you can find these anywhwre
Japanese Cheetos are easy to find (regular, jalapeño, flaming hot) as are real American regular Cheetos (they say “export” on the front).
What you can’t find, except on a military base that non-military/government people have no access to, are real American flaming hot Cheetos. You also cannot find Fritos
I don’t see how this can be profitable for Frito Lay
These are legitimately spicy. Not stomach spice just painful mouth spice. While not the spiciest thing I’ve eaten, for me it was more difficult than a ghost pepper.
If you’re looking for another good spicy snack, Family Mart has [mala peanuts](https://www.family.co.jp/goods/snack/5020522.html) (麻辣花生).
But do they have the nasty sweet cheese powder Japanese knockoff Cheetos use? Because if so I doubt it being spicy will make it good.
Sounds disgusting. Eat some fruit.
if you really like spice, i recently found ghost pepper chips at donki!
How does this compare to scorpion Tabasco?
