Japanese tinder as women who don’t speak Japanese?

How do you know if the guy is real? Is it rude to ask for more proof?
Also is it normal for them to talk to you in Japanese and you just google translate. Or should they be texting me in English?

  1. If they are messaging in Japanese and you are responding with Google translated Japanese, be aware that if you do ever meet up they will most likely expect you to speak Japanese… unless you have no interest in conversing with the other person, I’d suggest only messaging guys who can speak English if you don’t speak any Japanese.

  2. You know if people are real the same ways as Tinder in any other country.

Why would they text you in English if they don’t speak English? If you’re matching with Japanese people, of course they’re going to talk to you in Japanese.

  3. I’ve seen a few friends date through google translate. Services like DeepL are much better than a few years back. Still, I don’t think any of them lasted more than a month or two.

If you don’t speak Japanese, you could ask them if they speak English.

  4. I had Japanese girls talk to me in English, also Japanese, so the language they use won’t matter if they’re fake or not

Some people lack English skills, but still want to talk to you, so they hope your Japanese is good enough.

Some people have good English, they assume you probably speak English, so they use it.

  5. >How do you know if the guy is real?

In epistemological terms, it is impossible to ever truly know this with absolute certainty, but generally speaking, if the guy occupies physical space in a consistent manner, then I think that you can safely assume that he is real.

    I hope that this helps.

  6. You’ll be OK. Some J-dudes speak English and many others will be ok with your bad Japanese. Don’t rely on Google translate because it would suck to use that in a date.

There’s also plenty of English-speaking non-J guys but watch out for the “bobs and vagene” gang.

How to prove they’re real? Do a video chat before meeting up in person.

  7. While I understand you’re wary about people being real or not on Tinder, the moment someone asks me to prove if I’m real in obviously machine-translated Japanese, I’ll automatically assume you’re a scammer and block/report you.

  8. Idk because I don’t know who you’re talking to lol. Just video chat and find out haha.

I will say in my experience, lots of Japanese people have quite good written English skills but struggle with talking. Which means even if they are messaging in English, they may not be able to hold a conversation in English in person

I wouldn’t rely on translation apps too much tbh. This will get difficult in-person that way. Anyway, why don’t you just ask them directly about their preferred language…?

  9. Highly recommend Bumble for better quality matches instead!

Just state it in the bio that you prefer talking in English.

  10. In my experience Japanese Tinder had plenty of English speakers so if you want to speak in English with a date it’s a totally fine option.
I actually was a little concerned with the opposite like was looking to date a Japanese person who isn’t looking for a foreigner, but that may not matter at all to you.
