Itinerary check: 14 Days Tokyo – Hakone – Kyoto – Osaka (24.04 to 08.05)

Me (M36) and my Wife (W34) French, are going for the first time in Japan. We are not big travellers (it’s our 3rd trip in 13 years, first was Florida (Disney, Universal) second was London). We love Japanese culture.

**Day1, 24/04:**
Morning:
Landing Narita \~8:40am:
\- Retrieving JRPass
\- Getting Cash
Dropping Luggage to the Hotel (Tokyo Prince Hotel)
Afternoon:
Shopping at the sunshine city mall in ikebukuro
Late afternoon: Back to checking to the hotel
Early evening: Diner at the yakiniku’s restaurant of the hotel
Early sleep because of the jetlag.

Wake up early direction Kyoto, dropping our cabin luggage at the hotel (Daiwa Roynet Hotel Kyoto Ekimae)

Visit of the Nara Park

Afternoon:
Fushimi Inari Taisha (with the hike up to Yotsutsuji for the view)

Shipping our luggages to Osaka (Takkyubin)

  1. I would urge you to consider just staying in Kyoto and not moving to Osaka; they are very close to each other. You could do Universal Studios as a day trip. This might give you time to consider visiting Himeji castle as a day trip as well – a must for a student of medieval Japanese history!

  2. Nara is closer to Osaka than Kyoto if you wanna switch your days around. If your accommodations aren’t fully booked, I also recommend just staying in Kyoto. Although it might be too late to change now due to golden week.
