The best pass I ever saw was when JR Kyushu did their pass, you could add a Japanese citizen to your pass as they had a promo that was a +1 just by paying an extra ¥10,000 on top of your passes price

That’s awesome. Sucks my Japanese wife can’t take advantage of it but it does save some costs.
