In my experience, yes. I used JPDB which is Anki-like, and I started with Genki decks and had the core deck scheduled behind it. That way I had my vocab already studied for the chapters and exercises I was doing. It made it easier to get through.
The question is do you like SRS? Do you enjoy doing daily reviews and feel like you want more? If so then yes. I have 3 decks currently alongside wanikani and I’m enjoying oding them everyday. I need to lower the amount of daily cards for each sometimes, but it makes the learning less monotonous.
