I’m planning to get braces and I know it’s not covered by health insurance. I’m wondering how much would that cost? Also what does it call in japanese? Thank you in advance
If your bite is fixable with the plastic invisaline type of braces it might only be a 300,000 yen. Otherwise the metal braces are from 700,000~1,000,000 yen. Ish.
歯列矯正” (shiretsu kyousei) between 250k ~ 500k. Now you understand why so many Japanese have crooked teeth.
I got mine 10 years ago in Fukuoka. I needed two extractions, ceramic braces, and a retainer. Two years of treatment, and it ran me 700,000 to 900,000. I don’t recall exactly. In Japanese, they call it 矯正 kyousei.
A fucking rip off which is why generally speaking teeth don’t look so nice here.
Got mine 2 years ago. 4 extractions needed for a 3 year treatment. Each extraction was 10,000 Total was 770,000¥ plus 5,000 every month for maintenance. The good thing, they usually let you split the payments with no additional fees
Dental plan!
The orthodontic and cosmetic dentistry field here are complete jokes. 650,000 is the lowest I have seen it.
