Recommendation of speaking practice app

I’m learning Japanese currently by using apps.

I had learned Japanese 12 years ago while I was in the university and do know hirakana.

So this time I want to improve my speaking skill.

And I search for Japanese speaking app but didn’t find one before.

So I just use Duolingo and bunpo to learn some vocabs and grammars.

Until I found teuida, an app which was teaching Korean before

but started to teach Japanese a couple of weeks ago.

They teach the grammars via videos and in the video you can also practice speaking!

Also there are vocabs to learn and exercises.

But I think the best part is the review quizzes cuz I can practice speaking.

I’m curious about their Korean version so I tried it and found there are interesting videos.

I can practice speaking via the stories.

But there is no story yet in Japanese version 🙁

Don’t know if they will provide Japanese story too…

But I still think teuida is a good app to learn Japanese speaking.

  1. Pimsleur is a speaking-based learning app. I ran through all 5 of their Japanese programs in under a year. It will help a lot in your pronunciation and with common phrases. It’s not as helpful, on it’s own, with total language acquisition. It’s great as one part of your study process.

  2. HelloTalk can be helpful if you find a person thats willing to do voice messaging or even calls

  3. Find people that also want to practice, online or in person, doesn’t have to be a native speaker.
