I tried to buy something from Kindle today, but it redirects me to a page saying:
申し訳ございません。現在地を確認することができませんでした。
I’ve been buying from Kindle JP without a VPN since 2019, and this is is the first time this happened. I haven’t tried using a VPN yet. I tried changing the address to a random Japanese address, but it keeps saying I need to enter a valid phone number, and won’t accept the new address.
Anybody experiencing something similar? Are you guys able to buy from Amazon just fine without VPN?

No problem, as long as it is no online contents, like Kindle, Prime Video etc. You were just lucky and can be happy that it worked this long. They usually find it out within some hours, or days.
Use a VPN. If it’s complaining about payment address not being in Japan for the credit card, use Amazon credits to pay.
Usually buying something from the kindle itself rather than from amazon.co.jp avoids it giving me an error.
There is an option in the settings to set your home country, you might have to change it back to japan
I just use tenso. https://www.tenso.com/en It’s a real Japanese address.
