Hi, as per title, I will be needing a certificate that confirms that I have been a resident of Japan for fiscal purpose for the last N years.
I think the correct certificate is the one found in [https://www.nta.go.jp/english/taxes/withholing/index.htm](https://www.nta.go.jp/english/taxes/withholing/index.htm) \-> ” Application Form for Certificate of Residence in Japan” -> “For other purposes…” but has anyone ever needed this and if so, where should I turn this in?
I’m about to step out to my local ward later today and see if they can help out somehow or if there’s anything equivalent they can issue, would be great to know if anyone has had similar experience. I just need to prove to another country that I have not been a tax resident there for the last N years. Thank you.

Go to the tax office for your area. They won’t be able to help you at the ward office.
