21 Day (June) Itinerary Advice

Hello Travelers,

It has taken some time but i think ive finally finished my itinerary and am now looking for the wonderful advice and wisdom of this sub to aid me in polishing it.

My Trip is based around as many festivals as i could find in the period so that explains some of the weird jumping.

Here we go !

9th –

Fly into Haneda Airport at 5:05pm , plan is to set up the suica and my wifi and get my JR pass and then basically just find my accommodation , get some food , wander a little bit then hit the bed.

10th and 11th-

Early morning on the 10th im gonna hightail it up to Kanazawa/Toyama for the Toanmi Yokata Festival. While im there im gonna see attend the festival during the nighttime and see these sights during the day:

Kenrokuen , Omicho Market , Kazuemachi / Higashi Chayagai , Nagamachi Samarai District, Kanazawa Castle , Sesionkaku Village , Oyama Shrine , Kanazawa Noh (Mask) Museum.

12th-

From Kanazawa im gonna train down to Tsumago and Transfer my Bags to Magome and walk the Nakasendo from the two towns , about a 4 hr walk and then Stay in Magome that night.

13th-

Wake up early for some magic hour sun in magome then bus and train my way to Seki in Nagoya to see the Seki Sword museum and buy myself a quality kitchen knife. From here Train to Nagoya and shinkensen to Kyoto for the afternoon and night.

14th -19th – Kyoto

14th – My plan is to do Kiyomizu Dera temple and the surronds such as Hokan-Ji , Shohoji – Koda-ji – Maruyama Park , and finish up at Gion for the night before heading to Yasaka Shrine for the Resai Festival.

15th- Start the day at the Chion-ji Temple Handicraft Market and walk the philopshers path to Zenrin-ji Temple , from here hit some thrift shop/second hand stores throughout the city.

16th- Fushi inari and its secret bamboo path , and the Samurai and Ninja Museum.

17th- Arishiayama in the early early morning , Then Tenryu-ji Temple , Hogan in Temple , The Kimono Forest , Ogura Pond and Gioji Temple , Quickly hit the book off thrift ship and return home.

18th- Going all the way up to Kifune on the romantic train and going to the shrine and the Hirobun cafe , nagashi somen and climbing over the top and walking back down kurama Dera and stopping at the Onsen if it is open.

19th – Day tripping to Nara and Todaiji Temple and the Park. (If time go to Koyasan and the Okunoin cemetary. If not Go to Koyasan on my Fill day)

20 -21st – Osaka

20th – Universal Studios if i meet some other tourists who want to go with me otherwise go to Dotonbori , Hozenji , Kuromon Ichiba , Den Den town and sinsekai – Tsutenkaku Tower.

21st – Osaka Castle , Shitennoji Flea Market , Sumiyoshi Taisha and finishing with the Team lab Botanical Garden.

22nd – Fill Day – If i missed anything or didnt get time to do anything so far its my fill day , potentially koyasan i dont know. Whatever fits the bill.

23rd – Himeji

The Himeji Yukata Festival is on so heading there to join in on the yukata action and see the castle the koken garden and if i get time mount shosha and engyoji.

24th- 29th Tokyo.

24th- Akihabra and all of its curiositys, massive anime nerd and gamer so i feel i can waste a day here.

25th – Shibuya and Harajuku , see the scamble , hacachio dog , yoyogi park , meji jingu , a few shops and all that.

26th. – Ginza for the Kabukiza Threatre , Imperial palace , Art fish aquarium and in the evening team lab planets.

27th – Day trip to Nikko for the Edo wonderland , toshogu shrine , Tanozawa Villa , Kegon Waterfall , Onsen , Sake Tasting. (fully expect not to see everything on this day trip)

28th – Shinjuku – Samurai museum , Government building viewdeck. hanazono Shrine , Omoide Yokicho , the Robot restaurant and a few shops n stuff

29th – Getting a tattoo (this is swapable with any tokyo day , artist and i still organising date)

30th -Return Home

i fly out at 7:20om so quickly do anything i missed and get to the Hanadea Airport around 4 to check in and relax before my flight.

So that’s my trip so far. I really really would love any advice on things stuff that ive missed tips and tricks for visiting locations etc. I know some days look clusterfucked and impossible to complete but im gonna just do what i can. For those days just tell me which are the better ones to see and which ones i should cut.
