Itinerary Check First Time in Japan, 21 days Tokyo > Hakone > Nagano > Kanazawa > Takayama > Kamikochi > Kyoto > Hiroshima > Miyajimi

Hi there, was hoping to see if any of these days look too light or heavy (or if the connections between the cities are unreasonable). Here is a rough outline of what we are planning on doing. We are 2 graduating seniors that both love nature/hiking and more peaceful/ less crowded locations, so would love to hear recommendations on that! I would also love to know if I am missing any must see sights in any of these locations! Thanks!

  1. How are you getting from Hakone to the snow monkeys?
It’s really annoying and complicated and the monkeys might not even be there in May.

I would add the day to Kamikochi or add hirayu onsen or something.
Nagano itself is just a big city.

  2. Query: Why, when you are staying in Ueno on the 19th, are you crossing all the way across the very very large city of Tokyo to spend the day in Shibuya and Harajuku (which are relatively close to Shinjuku)….

and then moving all the way across the city to stay in Shinjuku, but then crossing all the way back across the city on the 23rd to spend the day in Asakusa and Akihabara ( which are right next to Ueno)?
