I am in a really dumb situation right not and I have no idea what do at this point. Currently living in Tokyo. I am from a South Asian country which is not eligible for Visa on arrival in Indonesia, back home people just apply through the embassy. I have asked the Indonesian embassy in Tokyo and they sent me link and said I need to apply for eVisa. I have asked a travel agent in Indonesia and they have informed me I am not eligible for the eVisa application. I don’t know if the embassy doesn’t issue visa or they are just not well informed. Any advice on how the heck I get the proper information?

I had to make a reservation and go in person to the Indonesian embassy circa 2019. I needed my Indonesian friend’s national ID and invitation letter. There should be a list of required documents on the embassy website.
Oh dear, Indonesian visa is complicated af. My condolences.

What kind of visa you’re after? AFAIK, after COVID, I got my Business Visit visa (B211B for factory entry) via email (e-visa) sent from Indonesian Immigration bureau, and the embassy doesn’t issue the visa.
It seems that to get a visa (for business at least) you need someone inland to do the process and be your guarantor. Inconvenience af. It’s easier to get an APEC Business Travel Card and enter Indonesia with it than apply for a visit visa. lol
