PR after 1 year, how do I prove my taxes/annual salary?

Im qualified for PR after 1 year. But this means the duration of 1 year right, it does not imply a financial year, or covering necessarily same year jan to dec?

So in that case, how do I prove my taxes/annual salary when this has not yet been issued?

I started last year spring, so i guess my company will file my taxes for about 10 months or so for last year? When in this year would they be finished? The 課税証明書 i need i think. Do i need to wait for this to be issued even though a year already has passed?

  1. You don’t have to wait for the 課税証明書. You can proove your income with your payslips. I did the same. I think it’s even written somewhere on the website of the Immigration Bureau.

  2. >I started last year spring

If you started Spring 2022, then you’ve already paid income tax for 2022 tax year (January 1st 2022 to December 31st 2022). Your employer would have done your YETA in December 2022 or if you needed to you would have filed your own final tax return by March 15th’ish 2023.

You’ve not paid 2022 resident tax yet though, as it’s not billed until June 2023. But you can mention on your application that your employer will start deducting it via “special collection” come June 2023 pay day. Or if you really want you will be getting your special collection slip at some point in June 2023 so you can just include a copy of that, if you’re willing to wait until June.

If you really want to get immigration excited you can also ask your employer to withhold the full resident tax bill in June 2023 I.e you pay it all off in one month, as opposed to the 12 monthly installments.

  3. Add a copy of your contract, offer letter, or Statement of Employment. Immigration accepts those as proof as well. If your contract runs out during the processing or if they have questions, immigration will ask your employer to provide an “Expected Salary Chart” for the next 12 months. If you have 80 points, you already have standing as far as Immigration is concerned.

  4. I will just add that my experience was slightly different than some of these replies. I attempted to apply after one year before the tax season and was rejected at immigration – they told me I must wait for the first year of taxes to process to bring the 課税証明書 no matter what. This was despite already being able to prove my income with an official company letter and payslips. I did exactly that and applied last June after I was able to generate the records. Got PR in December.
