Pairs not accepting an image of my passport

Trying to send an image of my passport for ID verification to the pairs dating app, only to be given a “can’t be sent” notification.

Anyone encounter this problem?

How do I take a pic that pairs will accept?

  1. Why on earth are you giving a picture of your passport to a dating app, or any other official ID?

    Find a better dating app.

  2. If the app didn’t work you can try the website or vice versa. Passeport should work. Are you doing the age verification or the check mark thing ?

  3. Normally, if you have to submit a photo of your passport as ID verification you would only use the page that has your photo on it. It needs to be clearly visible with no blurring or fuzziness. If you move the camera even slightly while you’re taking the photo it could be enough to keep it from being verified when you submit it.

  4. Probably tryna spare you the heartbreak of having your divorce lawyer screw you over!

  5. Not familiar with dating apps, but other apps requiring identity verification (eg mercari, etc) accept MyNumber which is imo much safer and easier given you do not need to input your information but you do need to tap the card on the back of your phone for scanning.

  6. Use Bumble, they don’t require you to upload an id, and it’s free. Pairs is expensive.

As for the guy saying it’s a legal requirement, well, in that case Bumble is breaking the law 😉
