Ex-Military moving to Japan 30(M)

I am looking to get out of the military, my job in the army was as a communications specialist dealing with radios, satellite communications, and tactical voice communications.

I was looking to move to Japan to start a new life. I was looking for advice on what kind of jobs would be suitable for me as I do not hold a bachelor’s degree… I do have extensive radio communication and tactical experience and high-end food service experience. Any other vets in here?

I have Japanese citizenship so the “staying in Japan” part is easy, I can speak fluently but can only read and write at an elementary level (I don’t have N5-N1). I can only find English teaching jobs and I’m kinda stumped. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any US communications licenses such as FCC “Radio Extra” or “Advanced Communications add-on” from Microsoft? Japanese communications or telecom companies are greatly impressed by such licenses since the Japanese equivalents are so difficult to get.

Search for Japanese jobs in communications or telecom on Linked-in, Indeed, etc. I have a gaijin friend working at KDDI simply because he has an FCC Radio “Extra” licence which is common for working a college radio station (but to Japanese is some huge accomplishment).
