Hi all!
I am an international student hoping to study at Waseda’s School of International Liberal Studies starting 2024, expecting to graduate in 2028.
I was wondering if graduating and finding a decent career in Japan would be possible, as I will starting this degree as a mature student (aged 24, born 00′). I was hoping to study Japanese and continue working on the side, considering the degree is not too intensive.
Prior, I was already working in startups and was a uni dropout (CS degree). Currently, I hope to direct my career towards a path related to business development (such as consulting/products-related), or continuously in startups.
I understand Japan has a very strict path for traditional candidates via 4th year job hunting, and I will most likely not be utilising that. I am a bit worried about the ageism I may experience in joining the workforce late, especially in Japan. Would this be worth the plunge?
Thank you so much!
