13 Day Itinerary Tokyo -> Osaka – > Kyoto -> Tokyo

Hi guys this is my itinerary for our first trip to Japan. Looking for advice and recommendations. I’ll be traveling with fiancé for first part of trip and we have family coming for second part.

Can one person use their suica card for multiple people? Or should I get one for my fiancé too?

Day 1: arrive Narita 1800 get JR pass and Pocket Wi-Fi. I already have suica card on my phone. Check in hotel shinjuku area and maybe go to piss alley.

Day 2: 2D Cafe, Piss Alley explore Shinjuku

Day 3: hedgehog cafe and shibuya sky

Day 4: TeamLab, Le Cafe, High Five bar

Day 5: travel to Hakone. Explore hakone?Go to Onsen Hakone Yuryo. Travel to Osaka Morinomiya area

Day 6: Nara?

Day 7: family arrives. Dontobori and Cup of Noodle

Day 8: Hiroshima

Day 9: Kyoto. Pontocho

Day 10: Old Kyoto, Gion, Nishi market. Tea ceremony.

Day 11: Bamboo forest, Fashimi, Konakakuri

Day 12: Fiancé and I go back to Tokyo. Sumo wrestling. Don’t have our last hotel yet.

Day 13: Tokyo to Narita.

  1. Since you aren’t really traveling much your first few days, I’d recommend getting your JR Pass somewhere other than Narita. Even at Shinjuku the lines will be shorter.

  2. Dude im also going with my fiance and im also going to osaka and kyoto and I also plan on going to piss alley the first night hahaha.

    we are staying in a capsule hotel near the airport our last night

  3. I don’t know if they changed anything, but I wasn’t able to use JR pass to ride from Osaka to Hiroshima. Someone can chime in on this, though.

  4. you can use your suica for multiple people on buses but not on subway. the reason being you scan first going in and once again when you get to your destination so the system knows how far you traveled. so if you scan for yourself going in then the person behind you, it wont work properly.
