It’s been great to see the ascendency of Aussie Open: they’re exactly the shot in the arm that the tag team division in NJPW has needed for years.

  1. Agreed but I will say that they are great representatives for the tag division but they need support with good rivals and stories to put them in the next level.

  2. I’m genuinely worried that Aussie Open are still seemingly working without a contract. After all the years and all the MOTYCs, they deserve that much.

Seriously, NJPW, how much longer do you plan to blue-ball these guys before they just sign with Tony Khan instead?

  3. They’re amazing and if they stay with NJPW long term, they’ve proven they could have fun singles runs too. I could see Dunk with a NEVER championship run down the line and having a nice string of G1 matches (win or lose) one day. Probably not main event singles level, but not every great singles performer needs to be.

As DeathTriangle720 already noted, the biggest issue is having rival teams. NJPW is not really setup for big stage, long term tag team feuds these days – just not enough real teams.

  4. Shot in the arm? Guess I’m the only one who liked Bishamon. Great matches with Tana/Okada, FTR, and 2 with Aussie Open.

  5. I may sound weird, but this is the best tag team, together with Catch 2/2. FTR are ok, but below their level

  6. I remember watching them on Progress Wrestling back in like 2017, I wasn’t really a big fan of them but they’ve definitely won me over the few years because they just keep getting better and better.

  7. Them and TMDK have been the shot in the arm the division needed though a think a couple of new additions to the ranks are also needed

  8. Kyle is a madman nearly killed himself in both matches to win these belts.

    What a lad.

  9. when i first saw them on aew i just thought they were will ospreay’s job guys now theyre my favorite tag team possibly ever

  10. Love Aussie open and love United Empire,
    Easily the best faction today.

The genuine love and support they have for each other is fun to watch. When the boys won the titles you could see all members on social media hyping them up, Ospreay is a great leader

  11. Just glad to see them doing well. Crazy seeing them on British indies and now they are so big! Really glad for them, super dynamic style and a tone of charisma.

  12. They are incredible, had my MOTY of 2021 against Destination Everywhere, and they both had my 2022 runner up MOTY. I hope that now NJPW are focusing on tag teams, it seems they are starting to, but when they do it never last long, but if any team can do it, its Aussie Open. I would love to see them both go for singles belts eventually (but defo not split).
