I’m coming here as a last resort, hoping this is the right subreddit for this question. Recently, I started using kana input on my windows 10 laptop. After putting on all of my hiragana stickers and opening notepad to test it out, I discovered that my tilde key automatically switches me from hiragana to romaji input, even while in kana input mode. This prevents me from using the ろ key, which is like using a keyboard without an A. I have scoured the internet to find ways to disconfigure this hotkey and have found nothing. Is there anyone here who has had this situation before and fixed it somehow?

~ is the Hiragana hot key by default IIRC.
there are a lot of IMEs out there that let you type in romaji with a standard keyboard. that’s what i do. that’s what the japanese natives at the bank where i work do even for their own japanese interfacing with software.
