This seems quiet a stupid question but im genuinely curious if people can fail their application for the JLPT. Even though they have already paid for it etc. If so why does this happen?
Provided there is room left at the exam site and your payment goes through, I don’t see how you could “fail” applying to take the exam. It’s like booking a ticket to see a play. There’s either tickets left or there aint. There’s no special qualifications to buy a ticket other than having money.
It is possible for people to not be permitted to sit the exam on the day or be removed. For example if you turn up late, are found trying to take banned items into the room or act in a way that is disruptive to other test takers. In this case I doubt you would get a refund.
perhaps if someone has provided false or incorrect information during the application? maybe check the regulations to see what constitutes disqualification.
