Hello everyone! I am working on designing an anime character who embodies the essence of a “speed demon.” I like the name Hayaki and wonder if it can be interpreted as “speed demon.” ChatGPT suggested “速鬼” as a translation for Hayaki. Is this accurate, or should it be Hayaoni instead?

Additionally, ChatGPT provided some other examples for “speed demon” names:

In Kanji: 疾風鬼 (Shippūki) – “疾風” (Shippū) translates to “gale” or “swift wind,” while “鬼” (ki) means “demon” or “ogre.”

“Fast demon” as 速い悪魔 (Hayai Akuma).

Are these written correctly? Do you have suggestions for improvement? And ultimately, can the name Hayaki be used to represent a speed demon character?

I *think* this might be more suitable for r/translator because you seemingly aren’t interested in learning Japanese and you just want help translating your English idea into Japanese
Two things:
a) if you’re not a Japanese learner, r/translator
b) if you’re a learner, try looking up ChatGPT in this sub and get a feel of how accurate (or not) it is
While I’m not sure what “speed demon” is, literally naming a character “speed demon” sounds like an explanation rather than a name and I’m struggling to come up with a translation.
Just so you know, speed demon can be スピード狂(きょう) in Japanese, but I don’t think it’s cool to use it as it is for a character name…
疾風 can be read はやて, so I would use 疾風鬼/はやておに.
