Amazon Prime video in English?

Does anyone know if there’s a secret way to get Amazon Prime video in English on a TV?

I’ve tried changing the language from the mobile app but it doesn’t seem to affect the TV app.

  1. If you’re asking about the menu/interface on a FireTV device, you should be able to do so via [settings-preferences-language](https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GBTSRXQAJLMZQZ83).

If you’re asking about the language of the shows, there is usually two options for each show, if they have the rights to it (unless it’s an Amazon original production). (字幕版) is in the original language with Japanese subtitles, and (吹替版) is dubbed in Japanese.

For Amazon Original shows, you can change the language though the audio/subtitle menu.

  2. Same situation, no matter what I do it the Amazon prime video doesn’t change.

(And their video selection it terrible aside from 007)

  3. I don’t know about a tv but on my Xbox I just went to the language section and changed it to English audio when I was watching Reacher last week.

  4. So just to avoid confusion, I am only talking about the interface here.

  5. You’re asking for too much. They don’t even have Japanese subtitles for most Japanese shows lmfao

  6. They haven’t quite realised that many foreigners want to use online to and movie providers, so we can watch and utilise the app in English (or another language). Or perhaps not enough of us to make it cost effective.

  7. I use a VPN and that works for Netflix and YouTube, but not Hulu. I haven’t tried Amazon prime video but I’ll check today!
