Stopped by police- should I expect some kind of follow up?

I was riding my bike at night without a light (I have a detachable one but was stupid and forgot to put it on) and was unfortunate enough to pass by some cops on patrol. They proceeded to stop me, reprimand me for not having one, and collect my name, address, workplace info, bike registration number, and the name of the person I got the bike from originally. My Japanese is not good so I couldn’t tell how much real trouble I’m in, if any. Am I going to get a fine or something? My other thought was that, because I work at a school and am supposed to be a model for the students (that part of their harangue I DID understand), they might call the school directly? Or was this just a slap on the wrist warning? Any insight would be appreciated. I live in bumfuck nowhereville inaka, if that adds nuance.

(Also not to be a cop hater but damn……..they really didn’t have anything better to do than to make me stand there in the brutal cold relentless wind for 10 mins at 10:30pm in the middle of a rice field for a fucking BIKE LIGHT huh…….)

  1. Hopefully there won’t be any follow-up. Just don’t forget your lights from now on 😁
