Coco ichiban-ya

Was in hamamatsucho and had my first original japanese katsu curry with cheese, and it was amazing.

  1. Coco curry’s curry is far better than 90% of the indian restaurants’ curry.

Edit: I am Indian. Most indian restaurants in Tokyo are shitty.

When I first came to japan, my company peeps took me to some small curry house and I honestly thought it was kuruma, it is a style of indian gravy/curry. I had the vegetarian(potato curry)option which was as same as I used to have in India.

I feel like Indian restaurants in japan are very sweet than coco curry.

There are very few good tasting indian restaurants in Tokyo. Like nandhini, Sri mangalam.. taste it there and you can find the difference.

Note:- if anyone want to try authentic South Indian taste, I would suggest you to go Sri mangalam for lunch and nandhini for dinner.

In nandhini ask for kothu parota. It will not be on the menu but you can ask for it.

  2. Omg yesssss I’m getting this for dinner thanks for reminding me it exists!!

  3. I would never do the challenge but the place I went to had a customized timer with a logo and everything

  4. Japanese curry is just one of those things I struggle with. I’ve always found it too sweet and mild for me, even when I order spicy.

I’m hoping that’ll change when I go to Japan one day and try this chain.

  5. I don’t know you. But thank you! I never knew this place existed. And there’s one near the city I live in! Already planning to go soon!

  6. Careful for folks with a peanut allergy! Almost all of their curries contain peanuts, just fyi!
