Hello! I’ll be moving to Wakayama in 4 months. To be honest, I’m not ready to live in a foreign country but I have to because of work. How is the lifestyle and people there? Where could I go and explore during my day offs? Is it expensive to live there? I’m planning to do meal preps and budget my salary ahead of time. Thank you!

Wakayama is an extremely rural prefecture. Wakayama City is decent sized and should have most things you need. It is not too expensive. If you love mountains and the sea, you’ll be very happy. Osaka/Kobe/Kyoto are not far by train so if you need some big city time you can definitely do that on the weekends.
