Hi everyone! do you know any good camping site for more than 10-20 people maybe a 4-5 hour drive from Tokyo? We want to have family picnics with our friend group, there will no children only couples. Most of the campsites I am looking at limit people to 4-6, so I am wondering if anyone can recommend me good place. Thank you

You are in luck because Japan has tons of good camping spots. What region are you in?
Yeah, I got not idea where you’re at but for bigger groups you can book two or three campsites. I’ve done it in the past. You can also book just for the daytime to BBQ.
Last time I went to Chichibu….I found their site is quite big, and you might just split them into 2 or more groups?
I can recommend なみのこ村. We went there in a group of 12. It’s right by the sea, it was so nice. The drive there is about 1.5 hrs from Tokyo
If you’re willing to drive that far, there are hundreds of options. Just get on the internet and do a web search. When you trying to book, call the place and ask them if they can give you several sites that are adjacent.
Shimizukoen has bungalows you can rent. Aircon, you can have a campfire, there is also a barbecue pit with picnic tables that can be rented. A grocery store about 20-30 min walk away. It’s in Chiba. There’s an athletic course you can do, too.
Niijima is a three hour boat ride from Tokyo, has a massive camping area near the beach with great facilities. And it’s free.
Sorry not in Tokyo so I don’t know any specifics, But we found it fairly easy to book a “bungalow” for around 12 people and included with that was the option to put up a tent as well so we had the kids and a couple of adults in the tent and the rest of the adults in the bungalow in the end.
