hi. i’ve been only seeing ore being used by men when talking to friends but i watched a drama today and the male lead uses ore when talking to his girlfriend. is it a casual thing to do that?
It’s normal. It just means “I” in casual form for male (for the most part).
Ore is just a way to refer to yourself, there is no problem using it on cuasual situations. You’d change to “watashi” when you are talking to superiors or customers at work, or old people.
私 = at work 俺 = everywhere else
僕 is only used by young children, gays, herbivores, or older men (40+)
