  1. having some trouble with this:

    わあっと歓声が上がり、観客たちが駆けよってきた。[character name]たちが、グラスに飲み物をついで、口々に言った。「乾杯!…」

For context, this is a big celebration after a cooking contest has been deemed a tie. By the above, it looks like people are cheering and running up and saying “cheers” with filled(?) glasses. I’m having some trouble figuring out what “をついで” is though. Any idea?

  2. I ran into this sentence:

    母は洗濯物を干しています

Is the 物 necessary? I wouldn’t have included it and just said 洗濯.

  3. 犬がいます
How is this pronounced? Specifically the が.
On the Anki deck the g in ga is 90% silent.
    Is this the usual pronunciation?
