  1. Take it slow.

    It’s not a race.

Don’t rush into the next chapter without feeling 100% confident in the one you’re currently learning.

Going forward without being confident only makes it more difficult to continue later.

Read it to learn, not to finish the book.

There are lists and online lessons out there with the Kanji and vocabulary. As well as pre-made flash cards and anki decks.

More importantly, take extra time with the grammar.

Absolutely try to make more sentences with any grammar you’re not completely confident in.

Tokini Andy has a couple of Playlists to help out.

    You got this.

  2. If you started with Genki, this book is a pretty good place to continue.

My advice is to spend time studying the kanji and vocab before engaging with each reading. Quartet has some official flashcard apps you can get.

Try the first reading before looking at the grammar to see how you do, then move on to reading strategies and double checking.

Read the grammar and move on to the second reading, which should go better. (Make sure to study vocab and kanji first!!).

You may need a tutor for the speaking and writing portions
