Moved to Tokyo 3 weeks ago from Ibaraki. Can anyone reccommend any walk-in bars in Tokyo? Especially around Shinjuku. That aren’t filled with tourists.
There are like 1000 bars within walking distance of Shinjuku that don’t require a reservation, but more importantly – whether they are filled with tourists or not (unless it’s like a bar that literally doesn’t accept foreigners) is just luck of the draw. I’ve been to the same bar on multiple different nights, 1 night it’s all locals, another night all tourists.
Go to Nakano, head to the drinking area just to the east of Nakano Broadway. Practically no tourists and lots of enjoyable places.
