(Anki post) The 2k deck

There are so many 2k decks. [This](https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/114060567) is the one that I got started on, and have now learned the first 1k words through this deck. The problem with this one is that it has 10 steps (decks) and each word has 5 cards for it (a single word reading card, single word listening card, sentence reading card, sentence listening card, and a production card).

While I suppose it is good that you get to train several aspect of each word, it takes longer than if you just learned 1 card per word. I got started on it while browsing [this](https://ankiweb.net/shared/decks/japanese) page, and since it near the top and seems to have a great like/dislike score, I went with it.

How does the reddit learning community view this deck?

  1. It sounds very slow but very thorough.

I think personally I’d just prefer to have it normal.

I’m contemplating diving into a 2.3k core anime vocab deck

  2. I would suspend all but the a single word cards (kanjified JP word –> EN meaning). Of course everything else helps a little, too, but the additional benefit/time ration of also doing the other 4 card types is lower than other things you could be doing.
