One of my fav matches of all time
Fantastic match.
Main event Kota should have been Murder Ibushi the whole time IMO. I know he didn’t have much time after winning the belt before the injury but…….
One of the best G1 Climax finals (maybe THE best) and one of the best NJPW matches of the modern era.
It came to me one time when I was rewatching it, when Tana starts stepping forward into Ibushi’s palm strikes, I think it was an intentional callback to a match where Tatsumi Fujianmi (one of Tana’s mentors) walked forward into Antonio Inoki’s famous palm strikes, showing the same determination and courage to prevail like Tana did.

This is a really cool video. If you’re up for some constructive criticism I’d recommend letting some of the clips breathe for even just a few more frames, not even seconds, and try and cut the edits a little more to the beat of the song. Still a dope vid
