We use Softbank’s Kokomo keitai. If the safety alarm is pulled it takes a series of pictures and emails them to me, along with the location. It also has preset messages my kid can choose from to send me (I arrived, I’m leaving, I need help, Where are you?, etc) because they can read but can’t type well yet.
My only issue is the on-demand location tracking isn’t real time. It takes 1-2 minutes to receive the location when I request it (in the emergency buzzer case or if my kid requests from their end to send it, it comes right away though).
Just adding that [au has kids keitai as well](https://www.au.com/mobile/charge/juniorphone-n/), since the others have shared Softbank & Docomo’s options. Ultimately it probably easiest to use the option of whatever carrier you use for your own phones.
For location tracking with au, you access a dedicated tracking page and the location shows up pretty much right away and will continue to update the location until you close the browser. The displayed location sometime is a little off, but for the most part it’s pretty accurate.
