I put Apex Legens in Japanese just to see what I actually understand

Close to nothing. Besides names and a word here and there I can’t follow what’s going on, which is exactly what I expected tbh

But hey I know the game well enough, and it’s really good katakana practice, which I am nowhere near as good as as my hiragana, I’m keeping it this way at least until the next update and I might need to understand text or voice again.

  1. I did the same thing when I started learning. I switched my csgo to Japanese and boom, can’t read shit. It was a real struggle but it definitely helped me get accustomed to katakana and hiragana quicker. Nowadays I play everything in Japanese, though Eldenring definitely threw some curveballs with their ancient phrasing and rare kanji. 😅

It’s great practice though, keep at it!

  2. Use it as a saving spot and come back to it later then to assess you progress!

After learning for a while you can try again and see how much you’ve improved

And don’t forget to ping a 拡張マガジン

  3. My friend and I like to turn our Minecraft into Japanese and do practice together by speaking only in Japanese to each other, it ranges from extremely irritating to very fun. Minecraft has a lot of words and objects you wouldn’t normally need to use outside of the context of something like Minecraft, but its really good for forcing us to think of sentences and phrases on the spot or to speak about what we’re doing.

  4. I’ve thought about doing that since the Japanese VTubers I watch play it in Japanese, but I would also understand next to nothing, and that would probably make me a worse team player.

  5. I did the same witg french and now I can hear what type of ammo my teammates are missing 😀
