Mpvacious vs Voracious

Hi, I’m thinking about sentence mining and I came upon these two. Why is everyone recommending mpv+mpvacious when it seems like a pain to get to work, when Voracious already does all of that within a single install file? Is there something I’m missing? (I’m on MacOS, btw).

  1. Voracious doesn’t seem to be in development since 2019, so bugs aren’t actively fixed. You can still try to run voracious, if it works for you great, otherwise mpv is your best bet.

    If you’re willing to pay money monthly, migaku browser extension is also an option. You can use a browser based video player to use it for local files.
