Can family visit Japan at the moment?

And it implies that relatives can visit, but that there needs to be a good reason such as wedding/funeral/new born kids. Are those the only options? Or can family visit for more general reasons now?

I went to the supermarket. I was going to buy bread. They had 2 different types that I couldn’t decide between. I stood there for 5 minutes and I just couldn’t make up my mind. The different scenarios in my head depending on what bread I would buy was just ridiculous. I ended up buying neither and just went home totally exhausted from my “deep” thoughts.
I think I might be burned out or something…? Maybe not, but what do I know.

Does anyone know how long you have to pick up your new residence card once you receive the post card from Tachikawa immigration? This is my first time renewing and I haven’t received the post card yet.
We’re torn between getting a Bosch or Miele dishwasher. The larger Miele ones open when they’re done washing and a salesperson said they heard that bugs go into it…? We don’t really have a bug issue though so I don’t think this is a problem?

I’ve lived in Japan before but as a student in a dorm, so pretty different circumstances. I live in a tiny LeoPalace now (I know…), but in August I’ll be going away for about 10 days. I’ve been very lucky with mold, just had a small problem with clothes which I’ve (hopefully) since remedied, but I realize that leaving the apartment for 10 days might welcome in mold lol. Is there something I should do or buy in advance? I don’t really want to buy a dehumidifier if I can avoid it, seems kind of expensive. I know there’s a dehumidifying function on my AC, but leaving that running the whole time also seems expensive, lol

So a new restaurant opened in our neighborhood and they have the traditional big flower arrangements outside.
I stopped with my kid to chat with one of the owners/managers/whatever and he said that in Japan people in the neighborhood are welcome to take one flower from the congratulatory flower arrangements. New apartment has an unattended front gate and you need a key to get in to reach the apartments. I order stuff from Amazon often and I added to leave the package at the front door. As that gate is not technically my room’s front door, I guess they cannot leave it there. They apparently came today while I was out as my Amazon app just says “there was a problem with delivery”.

There is standing water underneath the washing machine. Because of the angle, water just sits there and doesn’t drain. And there are now drain flies (チョウバエ) and little wormy larvae in that water.
This is a landlord problem, right? Like we shouldn’t need to fix the angle that’s built into the laundry area and the INFESTATION that has come about as a result, right?
