I was wondering if anyone had any input/media suggestions that will help me build a solid base and get to a comfortable N5 JLPT level? I already have a Pimsleur course and I have a textbook (80/20 Japanese), but I am just looking for another resource that will help build up my fundamentals.

How about Genki?
I use flashcards on anki
Check out Japanese short stories for beginners by Lingo Mastery. That’s my favorite beginner book. Just right level for me who is studying for JLPT N5.
Comprehensible Japanese on YouTube is incredible
Great for grammar: https://www.bunpro.jp/
Visual Novels, Texthooker, and yomichan
I like the graded readers from tadoku. I’m still a beginner myself, but it’s nice being able to comprehend something. Keeps me motivated, and I do learn a new word or two occasionally.
