Small Win!

So I’m a mechanic and I spent a long time collecting these Japanese cabin air filter sticker reminders that come with Toyota Rav4 cabin filters and there is a small portion of katakana and it is “クリーンエアフィルター” and it translates as ” clean air filter”. A bit childish I know but I’m almost excited a word I didn’t previously know came to me without a symbol sheet

  1. That’s the way to go. Try to go to a Japanese restaurant and read the menu, etc and you will find that slowly you will be making steady progress, congratulations!

  2. Yeah my dad always drove Japanese imports so he was happy for me to struggle through understanding the the fuses and what those screens were telling him (insert the map disc lol).

  3. It’s these small wins that keep me excited and motivated about learning Japanese, personally. Before starting, I didn’t expect to be able to understand it at all, so every bit I do understand, I get really excited about ^^

  4. Omg, no. Enjoy that victory!

I love it when I can read the stuff on stationery and food packaging. Sure, it says something I already knew it was, but for some reason, hiragana came easily to me and katakana was a horrible struggle, so I’m excited every time.

  5. Not childish at all! It’s a great feeling 😉

And small wins are the best 😁

    Have a great time learning!
